cold weather full shade shrub?

I live in SW MN (zone 4) I am trying to find something about 3-4 feet tall that I can plant in the front (north facing) foundation of my house. There is FULL SHADE. There were ferns, I didn’t like them, but at least they grew. Evergreens are nice, something with color, or flowers would be nice, I am open to suggestions!
