I need help/ideas gardening in SE.MO.?
I move here from a life time in CA., I’ve got gardening culture shock going on. I love Missouri, hate the clay soil, bugs and pesticides, Any advice is welcome, but I realize this is a limited forum, so good area reference sites/books would be help-full.I also need help with what veggies/fruit/nut trees that grow good here.Thank You
I’ve an idea for you b/c of the clay soil I would make a container garden. I’ve one here in Louisiana & it’s great!! I I bought these plastic containers you know the kind with the little rope handles on the sides. So anyway I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage plus filled them with Miracle Gro potting soil. Then just planted whatever I wanted in them.In the meantime you can work on your clay soil by turning it as much as possible & adding potting soil to it. I live in Louisiana & we have a combo of soil.Good Luck to you
