What happened to the apartment complex where I used to live in Addison, TX?

Yesterday my husband and I drove through the Dallas area and stopped to visit friends. Because we were so close we decided to take our daughter past the apartments we lived in when we were first married and she when was born. To our surprise the complex, and the other 3 or 4 complexes in that area were gone. Only the trees, decorated with christmas lights, and the parking lots remained. How strange. I can find no mention of the demolition online. Whats even stranger is that they are still shown on google maps. I guess I’m just curious why they were torn down. Anyone know? They were next to the Tom Thumb in Addison, 14000 block of Marsh Lane.
