In what states are palm trees present?
We all know that they are ubiquitous in Florida, California, and Hawaii.
I also know that they are present in parts of Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. What is the furthest north in these states that they can be found in abundance?
Also, are they present in Southern-Coastal Oregon? Coastal North Carolina and Virginia? How about the warmer parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Utah?
palm trees can be grown alonmg the coast from key west florida to cape cod in new england. Of course these are different species of palms, with tropical species down in southern florida, and the more cold tollerant types recieving damage and struggling until it reaches maturity.
Palms are in abundance up to the virginia beach area, after that they are scattered around in some zone pusher yards, but most people dont know about them.
The are present along the entire west coast of the USA and can be grow their (again, not the tropcial species which is probably what 85 percent of palms are considered).
Some are around the st george area in utah, and they do pretty well, and their may be a few in SW OKL. Coastal carolina has plenty sabal palms along the beaches and are lined around the city in coastal resort areas (like myrtle beach).
