I have a Pieris Japonica “Forest Flame” That has not flowered for the last two years?
I am wondering what can be done about it. The shrub is around 8 years old and has flowered in previous years.
It could be shaded too much by surrounding trees that have grown bigger over the years but most likely (unless you pruned it in the fall) it’s a nutrient issue. I would use some Holly-tone and mulch it with some clean compost. You could also use a bloom- oriented fertilizer like Shultz or Miracle – gro. It would be the formulation with the middle number higher than the other two.
