What tree should I plant in North Carolina, USA?
I have some ugly pine trees and an overgrown Holly tree that I am removing from my yard. I am interested in replacing them with better looking trees.
What tree should I plant in their place?
I don’t want another pine; I am tired of all the pine needles in my yard. I want something that will look good all year round, not just bloom for a few weeks and look ugly the rest of the year. It can bloom, it just needs to look good when it is not blooming. Dogwoods don’t look good when they are not blooming, for example. If the foliage looks good in the fall, it would be a nice bonus. I already have some maple trees in the yard. It is about 4/10 of an acre and can support a lot of trees.
Please help.
Japanese Zelkova…. Green Vase is a beauty… great tree… no leaves to rake, no flowers on the ground, no fruit mess…. just a pretty green tree with dancing leaves in the breeze…. there’s a pretty one here..
