When will my newly planted peach tree get leaves?
I bought an Early Elberta Peach Tree in a pot from Wal Mart two weeks ago. When I planted it, all the soil fell away from the roots, so I am guessing it was a bareroot tree that they just stuck in the pot recently. I live in Utah. Although it is still cold outside, my other fruit trees that I bought this year (apple and cherry) already have leaves on them. Is my peach tree still dormant? Is it dead? Should I try and get my money back? Is it normal for peach trees to “sprout” their leaves later? It’s been two weeks since I planted is, and the branches are still green inside.
Peaches love warmer weather so they should start up a little later for you. apple and cherry like a cold snap and will put out new growth sooner than say , peach, apricot or plum.
