Is it possible to grow oranges and coconuts in BC?
With a little bit of global warming, and some air humidifiers on the temperature rainforest part of British Columbia, Canada where temperatures don’t fall below 0 celsius, couldn’t there be tropical fruit growing in BC?
I think palm trees can generally grow in any frost-free climate. Meaning it doesn’t have to be hot in summer to grow tropical plants, it just has to be free of frost in winter.
So why aren’t these plants grown in BC?
Also what about grapes? How are the wineries in British Columbia? Isn’t it a good fertile climate?
but with global warming in a few years you could grow tropical fruit in BC and have tropical wines?
Maybe if someone had a really cool greenhouse or a “conservatory” as the Canadians would say…
