what does evergreen mean?
i searched online dictionaries, answers.com etc but all i got was” evergreen refers to shrubs, plants etc” however, i want to know if evergreen can be refered to as timeless also.
Evergreen plants are those which don’t lose their leaves or have significant changes during autumn and winter. For example, gum trees in Australia are evergreen. Additionally, evergreen could be referred to as ‘always being (such and such a quality)’ E.g. an evergreen cheery person (but this usage is neither normal nor in the dictionary, because, like many English words, it is taking a word out of it’s normal context and giving it another, e.g. an angry fungi infestation could refer to fungi that is rapidly or crazily growing, but you wouldn’t normally call it an ‘angry fungi infestation).
