Burned Viburnum sp leaves…prune, peel, wait, replace?

I planted Viburnum sp’s last summer. The plants’ leaves burned in the late summer sun. This winter they were exposed to snow and cold which may or may not have affected them. Now the dried up leaves are still attached to most branches, and there is still some green on the lower part of each shrub. Should I pull off the leaves? Prune the bushes down? Leave them alone? Will they recover? I’m in zone 1 weather.

Prune off all the dead material. They have a better chance of recovery if the dead matter is removed. Cut down to the green part of the stem. Viburnums are plants that need shade. Most of my viburnums occur naturally in the understory of my woods. You might want to consider pruning and relocating in the Fall when the plant is dormant. I am not sure when your “Fall” happens in zone 1 but the rule is to not move the plant until it is dormant.
