What kind of bush/tree should I plant?
I am looking for a tree/bush/shrub that I can plant on the east side of my home, I live in NY.
I am looking to hide my neighbors back yard, we are separated by a chain linked fence and I have no privacy! I am looking for something that has a decent amount of greenery that will stay green all summer, I would like it to stay full and most of all it must produce flowers/blooms. I am particular to the color purple that is why I am looking into hydrangea, butterfly bush and lilac. I am not sure which will get the tallest and fullest and produce flower/blooms.

it will be planted along the fence line. I have about 6-8′ for it to spread out but only 2′ deep
Lilac is a good choice for cover, but only blooms for a very short period.Hydrangea, Butterfly bush, Lavatera, Texas Mountain laurel and Florida Anise would all be long lasting and free flowering choices.This website should be of help to you with other suggestions for purple flowered shrubs.
