I have 3 crape myrtles in my yard that need to be pruned?
They are trees that look like bushes. I want them to look like trees, yet I’m scared to death to mess them up. I planted one 4 years ago (but it’s growing slower than the others) and the others are 2 years old.
Both types of trees have a little bit different shape but that may be due to the age. (?) The red ones are taller and the purplish pink one is wider. Not sure if that matters but just in case…
When is the best time to prune them and where do I begin?
I have one crape myrtle along my driveway, but it’s huge. I just trim away any branches that are getting too long, but I do have a habit of over-pruning. I found a website that may be useful.
