What is the best way to regulate watering with my drip system?

I have a drip irrigation system that waters our bulb garden, roses, hydrangeas, some small trees and other shrubs plus dozens of potted plants. We live in Alabama and the potted plants must be watered every day in the summer but I also know that for roses and other shrubs you are better off watering only two times per week. How do I regulate my watering to satisfy everybody? My system is on a timer.
