What kind of tree/shrub is this?

I bought this tree/shrub in October of 2006 at Wal Mart. It has very soft, almost felt-like leaves and purple flowers that blossom so far continuously. I live in Florida, so we don’t have a real winter, but there was frost this year and it survived that. The plant is about 3 feet high so far and it looks like a mini tree. It was on sale and didn’t come with an information tag, so I’m at a loss as to what kind of plant this is. (It’s already been transplanted into the ground or I’d take it to a nursery to be identified.) Any help would be greatful. Thanks.
