The main language technique here is that the speaker uses apostrophe, which is a direct address to the pear tree. It is referred to as silver dust, silver, and white pear. Think about why these colors have been chosen. We know that the leaves of pear trees are green, so what’s going on here?

The other issue to think about here, especially given the events of the author’s life (which you should read about if you haven’t already), is that there is “female” imagery here. References to fruits and flowers very often are meant to reflect femaleness and female sexuality. Look for these descriptions, and I suspect they will jump right out at you.
